01 | GOVERNING THE EXPERIENCE
Turning Operational Needs Into Brand-Aligned Solutions
DISNEY CRUISE LINE | GLOBAL OPERATIONS
THE CHALLENGE
Operational needs continually evolve across a global fleet, creating requests for product changes driven by factors ranging from crew needs and environmental conditions to operational requirements and the guest experience.
Each change must balance creative intent, brand standards, operational feasibility, funding, product availability, and implementation—often while multiple initiatives are moving through the process simultaneously across different vessels and locations.
How do we enable operational change while protecting creative intent and ensuring approved solutions can be successfully delivered and sustained?
THE STRATEGY
I strengthened an established governance process by introducing a more relationship-driven, white-glove approach—engaging requesters early to understand intent, clarify requirements, maintain communication, and connect the right partners throughout the decision-making process.
Once approved, I serve as the connector across Design & Development, Finance, Procurement, Inventory Planning, Warehouse, Logistics, and shipboard operations, coordinating the work required to move each initiative from decision to implementation.
Across multiple concurrent initiatives, I maintain portfolio-level oversight of funding, product development, demand planning, procurement, manufacturing timelines, inventory readiness, logistics, communications, and rollout, identifying dependencies and adapting plans as operational needs evolve.
THE IMPACT
This approach has strengthened the connection between governance and execution, creating greater visibility for stakeholders while helping ensure operational changes move from approved ideas to implemented solutions without losing sight of creative intent, operational sustainability, or the experience they are designed to support.
